In 2020 Wine expert Olly Smith and glass manufacturer Stölzle Lausitz joined forces for a licensing collaboration

EP Brands brought together British drinks expert, TV presenter, columnist and author Olly Smith and German glassware manufacturer Stölzle Lausitz to collaborate on two exciting ranges of glassware to launch into the UK market. The partnership combined Stölzle’s expertise in the manufacturing of high quality crystal glassware with Olly Smith’s outstanding knowledge of wine and beverages. Together they developed two new glassware ranges, CHARM and EXUBERANCE. Olly was delighted to have the opportunity to partner with Stölzle Lausitz, and headline these ranges with the support of such a prestigious brand.
" The retail market has seen evolution with increasing demand by end consumers for ‘experiences’ within their product purchasing. The Olly Smith project has a core within it to deliver on this demand by “supplying a set of glasses, whilst delivering an experience”. With Olly’s tasting notes, cocktail recipes and vibrancy in turn of phrase. End consumers can impress their friends and maximise their drinking experience. Coupled with the proactive stance to educate consumers with what drink should go perfectly in what glass. This gives the consumer a progressive experience at home when they pop the cork, flip the lid, unscrew the cap or pull the ring pull."
Following the launch at Exclusively Housewares in 2021, the collaboration project was entered the UK retail market in stores and online. National chains embraced private label story ranges, and the rewards for the hard work and proactive vision within the project was recognised with a nomination for 'Best Licensed Retail Range' at the 2021 Housewares awards.
